Celebrating 25 Years of the GoMAD Programme
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the GoMAD programme. To celebrate this milestone, the organisation awarded grants of up to $2,000 each to 25 outstanding projects across the global UWC network.
Selected from a highly competitive pool of 118 applications, these initiatives reflect the core UWC values of peace, sustainability, and intercultural understanding. Each project was rigorously assessed based on its potential for community impact, the student’s personal development, and its alignment with the UWC mission.
2026 MUWCI GoMAD Grant Recipients
We are proud to celebrate the following MUWCI students whose projects received funding this year:
Education and Youth Empowerment
Tech-Empower Nepal (Nepal): Niranjan Kumar Sharma – $2,000
Focus: Bridging the digital divide through technology education.
Chhote Kadam (India): Ishanvi Kochhar – $1,801
Focus: Empowering youth through foundational developmental steps.
Culture, Heritage, and Local Innovation
Doko ko Sahara (Nepal): Abhigya Dangol & Kavin Agrawal – $750
Focus: Preserving local heritage through innovative community support.
Health and Wellbeing
Miyana (Mexico): Carla Lopez – $1,800
Focus: Promoting holistic health and community wellness.
The Courage to Act: Recognising All Applicants
Beyond our winners, we want to recognise the 11 other MUWCI students who submitted proposals this year. Developing a GoMAD application requires extensive research, thoughtful reflection, and the courage to pitch a solution to a real-world problem.
We congratulate these students for their efforts and strongly encourage them to refine their ideas for next year or transition their proposals into a Triveni (MUWCI’s unique co-curricular framework for sustained service).
