"UWC Mahindra places student health and wellbeing at the centre of campus life."
Living away from home in a demanding academic environment, with students from over 70 countries, is both exciting and genuinely challenging. The college builds multiple layers of support into daily life so that students are not navigating that challenge alone.
A layered approach to support
Wellbeing at MUWCI is not managed by a single service. It works through an interconnected network of people: faculty advisors who live in the same wada as their students, wada parents who maintain the safety and atmosphere of each residential cluster, the Head of Student Life, and on-campus psychologists available for confidential sessions.
The approach is largely preventive. Through regular Social Emotional Learning sessions, students learn to recognise and address challenges early, before they become overwhelming. Students are also encouraged to build habits that protect their wellbeing: physical activity, time for reflection, and a healthy relationship with sleep.

Safeguarding
MUWCI has a dedicated Safeguarding Committee and a published safeguarding policy aligned with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and India's POCSO Act. Safeguarding is framed as a shared responsibility: staff, students, and faculty are all expected to uphold the Code of Conduct and report concerns promptly.
The Designated Safeguarding Lead is Tanya Sharma. Concerns can be directed to the safeguarding team at safeguarding@muwci.net. UWC International also provides independent reporting mechanisms for any member of the wider UWC community.
MUWCI's commitment to Anti-Racism, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (ARDEI) runs alongside its safeguarding work. The ARDEI Committee works to ensure that every student, regardless of background or identity, feels valued and heard on campus.
