A Day in the Life of a MUWCI Student

A Day in the Life of a MUWCI Student

A day at MUWCI starts with a quick breakfast and a rush to class, with a packed timetable waiting ahead. But there’s more to campus life than lessons and assignments. A day on campus goes beyond classroom learning. Students take part in Triveni activities, cook together, spend time in the Wada common rooms, and explore their interests across campus. Life at MUWCI moves between all of these, with each student finding their own way through the day. Here’s a closer look at student life at MUWCI.

A weekday at MUWCI

Student perspective: Ze Alessandro Udeshi (Class of 2028)

Ze leaves for class by 8:20 a.m., and his classes finish at 1:55 p.m. He usually heads back to his wada for a nap before studying or attending afternoon sessions. At 5:15 p.m., he joins Triveni. Later, he meets friends at the Social Centre before dinner. He spends another hour studying in his room and then catches up with friends until around 11 p.m.

Triveni: learning beyond the classroom

Triveni gives students time for activities outside their regular classes, including sports, performing arts, writing, discussion and community projects. Students can choose activities based on their interests, and new options come up as students bring ideas to campus.
Alessandro has taken part in four Trivenis. Basketball is his favourite because he enjoys both playing and watching the sport.

Sports, study spaces and campus facilities

MUWCI has a gym, swimming pool, basketball court, football ground and badminton facilities. Students can also study in the library or on its lawn, hang out at the social centre, or go for a walk or a hike to Internet Hill or the Biodiversity Park. The nearby hills and the river are also open to explore. Spread across 175 acres, the campus has academic buildings, student residences, sports facilities and spaces to relax.

Life in the wadas

MUWCI has five residential communities called wadas. Each has a courtyard and a common room with a kitchen, where students can cook, study and spend time together.
Wada life also includes shared responsibilities and regular meetings where students can discuss house matters and organise activities. House meetings, shared meals and time in the common rooms give students a chance to get to know people outside their usual circle of friends.

What’s on the Menu at MUWCI?

The Cafeteria

The cafeteria serves breakfast, two snack breaks, lunch, and dinner, with vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. Students meet over meals, and cultural days may feature dishes from different regions. Students sometimes help serve the food.

The Campus Coffee Shop

The coffee shop offers sandwiches, pizza, snacks, and beverages (coffee and cold drinks). Students can visit after classes, pick up a bite to eat, or sit and eat with their friends.

Cooking in the Wadas

Students share a common kitchen space for snacks and cooking. Housemates can gather, sit around, and prepare meals together.

Free Time and Campus Life

For Ze, spending time with friends in the Wada common rooms is one of the highlights of his time at MUWCI.

“The one moment I would make a visiting student experience is spending some time in a common area with some friends, as some of my favourite moments from my MUWCI experience thus far have been bonding while cooking and talking in my or other Wadas’ common rooms.”
Ze Alessandro Udeshi

Some days at MUWCI end on the basketball court, others with a coffee between classes or a study session that runs longer than planned. By evening, the campus shifts to Triveni activities, dinner, and friends catching up after a busy day. There’s always somewhere to go, something to do, or someone to sit and talk with before heading back to the wada for the night.
